In a recent podcast, Todd Howard, executive producer at Bethesda, clarified the studio's cautious approach to AI. He emphasized that AI is seen as a tool for analyzing data, not for generating creative content in games like Starfield or The Elder Scrolls 6.

Howard stated that human craftsmanship and artistic intention remain essential to Bethesda's work. While AI can help with big data tasks to free up time for creative efforts, the studio has no plans to use it for in-game content generation.

He acknowledged that AI technology is rapidly evolving and cannot be ignored, but noted it is still early days. These comments aim to reassure players worried about AI-generated content in upcoming Bethesda games.

Howard also teased that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be a classic single-player RPG, focusing on a dense open world rather than multiplayer or massive maps. The game is still far off, but most of the studio is now working on it.
