Innovative Wearable AI for Professionals
Plaud has officially opened pre-orders for the Plaud One Explorer Edition, a specialized wearable AI device crafted for business environments. The primary goal of this technology is to seamlessly document professional conversations, transforming spoken discussions into actionable tasks and structured reports to eliminate the need for manual note-taking.
Whether worn as traditional earbuds or utilized via its standalone case, the device is capable of capturing both phone calls and in-person dialogues. The system automatically uploads these recordings for real-time transcription and summarization.
The Evolution of Agentic Capabilities
While the hardware is ready for launch, the advanced "agentic" features—designed to interact with platforms like Slack, Notion, Google Calendar, and Gmail—will roll out through future updates. According to the development team, the "Explorer Edition" provides the complete hardware suite, but the broader "Plaud Intelligence" agent functionality is scheduled for a later software release.
At launch, users will interact with the system by pressing and holding an "Agent Button." Hands-free voice activation ("Hey Plaud") is slated for a future firmware upgrade.
Privacy, Control, and Security
Addressing privacy concerns, the developers emphasized that the system is designed to keep the user in the driver's seat. Recording is strictly manual; it requires a physical button press. Plaud clarifies that the responsibility for obtaining proper consent rests with the user, encouraging compliance with local recording laws.
«All high-stakes actions — changing or deleting internal files, sending an email externally, or calling external data — require the user to approve them manually. So if you spot something the Agent got wrong, you can fix it yourself before it goes anywhere, or ask the Agent to revise it. Nothing high-stakes acts on its own»
The company notes that for routine queries within the user's private data, the agent can operate autonomously to maintain efficiency. However, for any external interaction, verification is mandatory.
Connectivity and Data Sovereignty
A standout feature of the Plaud One is its independence from a smartphone, facilitated by a built-in eSIM with 4G LTE connectivity. Notably, the company confirmed that this connectivity is included at no additional subscription cost to the consumer.
Regarding data privacy, the team assured users that they maintain complete ownership of their information. Through the Plaud application, users have the ability to:
- Access their stored data
- Correct or update existing information
- Export personal data
- Delete data or withdraw consent at any time
Pricing and Availability
The Plaud One Explorer Edition is priced at $249.99 (£229). The package includes $200 (£150) in "Plaud credits," which are utilized for advanced agent tasks, workflows, and plugins. While ongoing costs for these credits after the initial balance is depleted have not been disclosed, core features remain functional out of the box.
Pre-orders are currently open for the US and UK markets, with shipping for the Explorer Edition anticipated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
