Enhanced Audio Experience for Rotax Pilots

Pilots who frequently switch between different aircraft models often face the hurdle of adjusting their gear to match the unique acoustic characteristics of each powerplant. To address this, Lightspeed Aviation, a premier manufacturer of aviation headsets, has announced the introduction of the industry's first audio and automatic noise reduction (ANR) profile specifically engineered for Rotax engines within their flagship Delta Zulu headset series.

Strategic Collaboration for Better Clarity

This development is the result of a partnership integrated into the Rotax Care program. The new audio profile is designed to work seamlessly with Rotax 912 iS/c, 915 iS/c, and 916 iS engine platforms. By optimizing the acoustic output, Lightspeed aims to provide a superior in-flight listening experience, characterized by crisper communications and a more stable, comfortable cockpit environment.

«The result is a listening experience purpose-built for Rotax-powered flight—clearer communications and a more refined cockpit environment overall.»

How to Update Your Device

Owners of the Lightspeed Delta Zulu will gain access to this update later this fall. To configure the Rotax-specific profile once it becomes available, users should follow these steps:

  • Launch the latest version of the Lightspeed application on your device.
  • Establish a Bluetooth connection between your Delta Zulu headset and the app.
  • When the firmware update notification appears on your iOS device, select the option to proceed.
  • Maintain the connection while the update finishes downloading and installing.
