The Long-Awaited Launch

After a prolonged period of uncertainty and missed deadlines, the Trump T1—the debut smartphone from The Trump Organization—is finally making its way to consumers. Initially introduced in June 2025 with a projected shipping date of September 2025, the device faced significant delays that left pre-order customers waiting months beyond the original schedule.

The silence from the company was recently broken via an official announcement on the Trump Mobile Facebook page, stating: “Those who pre-ordered the T1 Phone will be receiving an update email. Phones start shipping this week!!!”

Addressing Development Hurdles

Explaining the reasons behind the production backlog, Trump Mobile CEO Pat O’Brien addressed the situation in a statement to the media:

“The technology business is more difficult than some may realize as parts must be tested for quality assurances. With demand being incredibly high, orders are being fulfilled as quickly as possible, and we anticipate all will be completed within the next several weeks.”

Evolving Claims and Specifications

The path to market for the T1 has seen notable shifts in marketing and hardware. Most notably, the initial promise that the device would be "made in the USA" was eventually abandoned. Industry analysts had previously questioned the feasibility of such a claim, citing the high costs associated with domestic manufacturing—pointing to the $1,999 price tag of the US-made Liberty Phone as a benchmark. The branding has since been updated to state the device is “designed with American values in mind.”

Beyond the shift in manufacturing origin, the hardware specifications have also seen updates since the initial June announcement. The current configuration of the T1 features:

  • Display: 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen.
  • Cameras: A triple-rear array (50MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2x telephoto) and a 50MP selfie camera.
  • Power: 5000mAh battery supporting 30W fast charging.
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor and AI-powered Face Unlock.

However, the company notes that exact specifications and the final appearance of the handset remain subject to change.

Introducing 'The 47 Plan'

In conjunction with the device launch, The Trump Organization is rolling out a proprietary wireless service. Known as “The 47 Plan,” the service is priced at $47.45 per month, a branding choice intended to honor Donald Trump’s historical position as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
