New data reveals the staggering scale of Roblox's dominance in the gaming industry. According to Matthew Ball's "The State of Video Gaming in 2026" report, Roblox's quarterly engagement hours now equal the combined total of Valve's Steam platform, Sony's PlayStation consoles, and Epic Games' Fortnite.

The platform represented over 4.5% of all non-China consumer spend in 2025 and was responsible for 67% of the game industry's overall growth last year. Its average daily active users surged 69% in 2025, far surpassing major consoles.

In Q3 2025 alone, Roblox recorded over 13 billion playtime hours, with the vast majority—11.5 billion—coming from mobile users. This engagement even begins to challenge streaming giant Netflix, reaching 65% of its monthly hours in 2025.

The report underscores Roblox's explosive growth and its central role in shifting industry dynamics, particularly toward mobile gaming. With Netflix's growth stagnating and Roblox's accelerating, the gap between them is rapidly closing.
