Meta Quest v85 is now rolling out to users in the Public Test Channel (PTC), bringing a significant set of new features and improvements. The update includes a complete replacement of the old navigation system with the new Navigator UI, designed for faster app launching.

A standout feature for Meta Quest 3 users is the experimental Surface Keyboard and Touchpad. This tool projects a virtual keyboard and touchpad onto any flat surface, leveraging the headset's depth-sensing capabilities. Quest 3S users gain new customization options for the device's Action button.

The update also removes the Horizon Feed panel and enhances security with automated malware scanning and privacy indicators. Passkey support is added to the browser, and new accessibility features allow voice control of 2D windows.

Meta states that the overhauled Ongoing Activities panel lays the groundwork for future feature integrations. The final stable release of v85 is expected for all users in the coming weeks.
