Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra's camera are already swirling, despite the recent launch of the S26 Ultra. A prominent leaker, Digital Chat Station, claims Samsung is developing a new 200MP sensor called ISOCELL HPA for a 2027 release. This sensor is reported to have a large 1/1.12" size, matching Sony's latest LYT-901 sensor, which promises better light capture and image quality.

More recent speculation suggests the S27 Ultra might use a derivative sensor called the HP6. Although slightly smaller, it could incorporate innovative LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology. This system aims to prevent highlight overexposure by storing extra charge, potentially delivering 'ultra-high dynamic range' for more natural-looking HDR photos.

If implemented successfully, this combination of a new sensor and LOFIC tech could represent the most substantial camera hardware improvement in Samsung flagships for several generations. However, the final image quality will heavily depend on Samsung's software processing to avoid an unnatural, over-processed look.
